Hi Liam, Thanks for sorting that out - I decided on the tree for a few reasons. It is a gift for my nephews christening. This is my 8th niece or nephew and after a while you run out of presents but more importantly I was sick of buying presents that didn't stand for much. As in you buy all the gifts at Christmas/birthdays and they are forgotten about very soon after as people just have far too much. What will they actually remember? A tree is something you will have and appreciate forever, it gives something back aswell as being beautiful. When I was growing up there was a tree in our garden that was planted when I was born and I always loved it. I would love a gift of a tree myself but often you may not spend that money on yourself. Living in England it is great to be able to have the gift delivered rather than plod off to the garden centre when you go back home. The main reason however was that my nephew was born 11 weeks premature and although fine now I thought an oak tree would be a good representation as a symbol for strength. Thank you for dealing with my order so personally - great customer service - it is a great company. I became a customer after receiving a Gift Tree Ireland tree from my daughter. Even though my garden was well planted, you can always find a place for one more. The tree now has pride of place. I was concerned about the pollution created by delivering the trees by road, but when I thought about it, I realised that this pollution is likely offset in the trees first years of growing and then of course it continues to do so year after year. I really admire what you are doing...

I recently learned that Ireland is the sixth most climate polluting country in the world per person.
